The exercises are “aimed at ensuring the readiness of units and equipment for the combat use of non-strategic nuclear weapons in response to provocative statements and threats by individual Western officials, to respond and unconditionally guarantee the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Russian Federation,” the ministry said in its announcement.
