Rivas Urges California Lawmakers to Address Housing Shortages and High Energy Costs

Today, Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas made a strong statement calling on lawmakers to focus on making life more affordable in the 2024-25 legislative session.

He highlighted the importance of tackling housing shortages and high energy costs, stating that Affordable, decent housing is the civil rights struggle of our time.

Rivas, who grew up in farmworker housing, emphasized the need for policies that support working families.

To keep lawmakers on track, he also announced a limit on the number of bills they can introduce.
