LONDON, Ky. – Police are searching for a person of interest following a shooting that injured multiple people on Interstate 75 in Kentucky.
Laurel County Sheriff John Root reported that deputies responded to a call about a shooting at exit 49 on I-75 around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they discovered that nine vehicles had been shot on both sides of the highway. Five people were seriously injured and taken to hospitals, according to WYMT.
The scene was secured by other departments and a special response team, and I-75 was closed for several hours during the investigation.
Authorities have identified 32-year-old Joseph A. Couch from Woodbine as a person of interest. He is described as white, 5′10″ tall, and weighing about 154 pounds.
