BOSTON WHDH – A plea agreement has been reached with Junmyung Lee, one of the individuals charged with operating high-end brothels in Massachusetts. Lee, a graduate of UMass Boston, plans to plead guilty for his involvement in managing brothels located in Cambridge and Watertown.
Another defendant in the case, Han Lee, has already pleaded guilty. Junmyung Lee, along with Han Lee and James Lee of Torrance, California, was arrested in November on charges related to running the brothels, which also extended to parts of eastern Virginia.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, the brothels catered to a clientele that included elected officials, high tech and pharmaceutical executives, doctors, military officers, government contractors with security clearances, professors, attorneys, scientists, and accountants, among others. The case has raised significant concerns about the potential involvement of individuals in positions of power.
