An Idaho Falls man, Tyler Jeffrey Parmenter, 33, was sentenced on October 16 in District Court in Polson to the Montana State Prison following a plea agreement.

Parmenter, who admitted to dealing drugs in Lake County, Montana, reached a deal on August 28, which included a joint recommendation for a five-year sentence, with three years suspended.

Court records show that on April 4, a drug agent received a tip about a drug dealer distributing narcotics near a sober living facility in Pablo, Montana.

The suspect, later identified as Parmenter, was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee with Idaho license plates. Further investigation revealed that Parmenter’s driving privileges were suspended.

On April 16, the agent located Parmenter’s Jeep and conducted a traffic stop. After obtaining a search warrant, the agent found a black box in the vehicle containing 253 fentanyl pills and a small bag of methamphetamine hidden in the air filter housing.

Additionally, unopened syringes and zip-lock baggies were discovered in the vehicle.

Judge Molly Owen presided over the case and credited Parmenter with 183 days already served in jail.
