With sweet words, Dakota Fanning spoke about Tom Cruise, revealing that he has sent her a gift every year on her birthday since she was 11 years old.
The two starred in Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds about 20 years ago. Since then Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning maintained a good relationship. It is interesting that the actor has a good relationship with the actress, while with his 18-year-old daughter Suri, with whom he has had no contact for many years.
Dakota Fanning opened up about Cruise’s gentle gesture at the premiere of her new film ‘The Watchers’ held at AMC Lincoln Square in New York.
“He sends me something every year,” she told ET. “He gave me my first cell phone when I was 11, and he remembers them every year since then.”
In the 2005 film War of the Worlds, Cruise played Ray Ferrier, a divorced father of two who tries to save them after an alien invasion.
Fanning, who was 10 years old at the time of filming, hoped the sweet gesture would stop after a few years. “Maybe when I’m 18 or 21?” I was thinking that. A few years ago he said he wanted the moment I would get it,” he explained. “It’s very kind and I really appreciate it.”
His new film centers on “Mina, a 28-year-old artist stranded in a forest in the west of Ireland.” According to the official synopsis, “When a young woman finds refuge, she unknowingly becomes entangled with three strangers who are being pursued by some mysterious creatures.” He has starred alongside Georgina Campbell, Oliver Finnegan and Anthony Morris.
“The Watchers,” acclaimed creator M. It marks the directorial debut of Night Shyamalan’s daughter Isana.
“She was a wonderful person full of energy and creativity. She had a clear plan, but she was also open to collaboration. So a very pleasant, collaborative atmosphere was created”, underlined the star, who, speaking about her career, said, “I am grateful for all the opportunities that I have and the opportunities that have been given to me now. I am grateful,” he asserted.
“The Watchers” is expected in our country on June 6.
