Ethel Kennedy, the matriarch of the Kennedy family and widow of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, is currently receiving treatment in a local hospital following a stroke she suffered last Thursday.

Her grandson, Joseph Kennedy III, a former U.S. Representative from Massachusetts, shared the news on social media, stating that Ethel is comfortable and receiving the best possible care.

In his post, Joseph described Ethel as a strong woman who has led a remarkably fulfilling life. He noted that she enjoyed a great summer, spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members, which has been a wonderful experience for all of them.

Joseph also requested that the public keep Ethel and their family in their prayers as she begins her recovery. Ethel was married to Robert F. Kennedy from 1950 until his assassination in 1968, and they had 11 children, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a recent presidential candidate.
