WICHITA, Kan. KSNW — Big Boy No. 4014, the iconic Union Pacific steam locomotive, is nearing the end of its tour in Kansas. After a stop in Salina, the locomotive is scheduled to depart at 9 a.m. on Saturday, making a series of notable stops along the way.
The engine will pause for 30 minutes at the Avenue E Crossing in Wilson around 11 a.m. Following this brief stop, it will continue to Hays, where it will stay overnight.
On Sunday, Big Boy will leave Hays at 9 a.m. for Sharon Springs, with a planned 30-minute stop at the Main Street Crossing in Grainfield at noon. After spending the night in Sharon Springs, the locomotive will head to Colorado.
Train enthusiasts and the general public are encouraged to witness this historic journey as Big Boy No. 4014 continues its legacy.
