An Alabama mother and son are facing legal trouble after allegedly assaulting an elderly passenger aboard an MSC cruise ship. Kelli Lyn Ryan, 49, and her son, Dylan Ryan, were reportedly caught on surveillance footage slapping a 65-year-old victim on October 6 during a cruise out of Miami, according to Local10.

The altercation occurred in the ship’s two-deck theater after a dispute, and both Kelli and Dylan were seen striking the victim.

Following the incident, Dylan was removed from the MSC Seascape at the first port of call in Falmouth, Jamaica, due to what authorities described as excessive behavior.

Meanwhile, Kelli was allowed to continue on the cruise, which included stops in Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Mexico, and MSC’s private island in the Bahamas.

Upon returning to Miami on October 12, Kelli was arrested by Miami-Dade police on charges of battery against a person 65 years or older.

The full details of the altercation, including whether the Ryans knew the victim beforehand, have not been released. Neither MSC Cruises nor Miami-Dade police have commented on the matter.
