K-State Research and Extension Miami County is hosting an educational class March 10 titled “Integrating Economics, Management and Human Relationship Issues to Facilitate Successful Family Business Transitions”. The class is at 7 p.m. at the Miami County Extension Office. The guest speaker for the evening is Duane Hund, coordinator of the Farm Analyst Program with K-State Research & Extension’s Department of Agricultural Economics. Duane also works extensively with the “Keeping the Family Farming” program in Kansas. Don’t let the long title of this class scare you. If you farm (or just own farm ground) and have children too, then this class should be important to you. Duane will discuss how to use good communication and planning to more easily pass on your farm operation or farm land to the next generation in your family. This class is free and refreshments will be provided by Miami County Farm Bureau Association and Frontier Farm Credit Service. Call the Miami County Extension Office at (913) 294-4306 by March 10 to R.S.V.P.
