The Louisburg Kids Wrestling Club made trips to Manhattan and Shawnee last week and brought home several medals to show for it. At the Little Apple Open Classic in Manhattan on Jan. 17, Ryan Owens was the lone Wildcat to leave with a first-place finish. Owens took first in the 6-and-under 37-pound class, while Cade Holtzen took second in the same division. Jordan Schlesener also took second in the 10-and-under 76-pound division and Mason Koechner was second at 120 pounds. Max Goode finished third in the 12-and-under 72-pound class. In the Cougar Kids Classic Novice Tournament in Shawnee on Jan. 18, the Wildcats left with two gold medals. Hayden Yeager took first in the 6-and-under 46-pound division and Ben Weidemann took first at 52 pounds. Cole Ewalt took second at 43 pounds and Quentin Feuerborn finished second at 46 pounds. Desmond Doles finished third in the 10-and-under 73-pound division and Curtis Lemke took third in the 14-and-under 125-pound class.
