It may have gotten off to a bad start, but the Louisburg girls' basketball team had quite a finish.

Down six points early in the game, the Wildcat defense held Belton (Mo.) in check and held the Pirates 26 minutes without a field goal in Louisburg's 51-18 win Wednesday in the semifinal game of the Louisburg Girls' Basketball Tournament.

The Wildcats held a 19-12 halftime lead, but outscored Belton 20-3 in the third quarter to pull away for the win. Louisburg will meet St. James Academy in the championship game at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. St. James defeated Harrisonville (Mo.) 61-23.

Look for a complete wrap-up of the game in Friday's Weekend Edition.
