Velma Elizabeth Meek, 92, Lee’s Summit, Mo., died Dec. 14, 2008, at John Knox Care Center in Lee’s Summit. She was born Dec. 18, 1915, the daughter of Lucas Lee and Cora Moore Hink. She married Samuel Alva Meek on Dec. 24, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo. She attended the Miami County District No. 104 Emerson School, graduating June 6, 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel, on June 8, 1965; her daughter, Gwyen Condra; one grandson; three brothers; and one sister. Survivors include a son, A. Wayne Meek of Olathe; a brother, Everett Hink of Louisburg; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Louisburg Chapel, 120 S. Broadway St., Louisburg, KS 66053, (913) 837-4310. Burial will follow at Louisburg Cemetery.
